This is a statement about the way Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia Pty Ltd (Konica Minolta) will deal with personal information collected about individuals.
At Konica Minolta we are committed to protect any personal and private information we hold on behalf of any individual. Accordingly we have adopted a set of privacy principles which deal with the way information is collected, used, disclosed, stored and accessed.
Collection of Information
Konica Minolta will only collect that personal information about individuals which is relevant to our business relationship. The information takes the form of identification and contact details but may also include:

- information about financial circumstances and credit history
- date of birth, marital status and details of dependants
- product and service preferences
Konica Minolta will not collect “sensitive” information about individuals such as information about race, politics, religion, philosophical beliefs, sexual preferences, criminal records, health or professional or trade union membership.
Use and Disclosure of Information
Konica Minolta may store and process the personal information of an individual to better understand their needs and how we may improve our products and services. The information collected allows Konica Minolta to provide technical support assistance, to provide product and service information and to access information on our web site.
Konica Minolta will not reveal any personal information about individuals to third parties unless:
- we are required to do so by law or
- we have one of our authorised dealers or sales agents contact the individual or
- we utilise the services of direct mailing companies, a credit reference body or a collection agency or
- we have consent from the individual to release that information.
The information may have been referred to Konica Minolta by a third party in which case that third party will also have had access to the personal information.
In all the above cases the third party will be required to keep the personal information restricted to the specific purpose for which it was supplied.
Konica Minolta will not use or disclose the personal information of an individual for a purpose unrelated to the products or services we provide or for any purpose outside a person’s reasonable expectations.
Quality and security, access and correction
Konica Minolta makes decisions based on the personal information held on individuals. We will make every effort to ensure that the personal information is accurate and up to date whenever we use or collect it and will use all reasonable efforts to correct any inaccuracies of which we become aware.
Konica Minolta welcomes access by individuals to the information we hold so that it may be reviewed and if necessary corrected and updated.
Konica Minolta will safeguard the personal information of individuals. This includes taking all reasonable measures to protect that information from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, both internally and externally.
