KONICA MINOLTA REVEALS NEW PREMISES
- Hon Maxine McKew, Member for Bennelong to open Konica Minolta House -
Konica Minolta has upgraded its office, showroom and warehouse facility and moved to a new environmentally-friendly glass building named Konica Minolta House, located in Macquarie Park, North Ryde. The Hon Maxine McKew MP, Member for Bennelong, will open the new office during an official opening ceremony on Friday 23rd October.
The new Sydney head office building includes a ground floor showroom, complete with Konica Minolta’s innovative photocopiers and digital presses. There are dedicated technical and customer training facilities, and both staff and customers have access to an on-site café and crèche. Konica Minolta’s head offices and meeting rooms are situated throughout the building which also boasts colourful carpet floor covering reflecting the colours included in CMYK, the core palette of the printing process and the main business function of the company.
Konica Minolta House was designed by award-winning architects Bates Smart in Sydney, one of the oldest architectural practices in Australia, who created it to attain a 4.5-star National Australian Built Environmental Rating System (NABERS). Konica Minolta’s move comes following a strong corporate growth of 20 per cent in 2008 together with mounting evidence which shows that environmental programs have the potential to reduce energy costs, regulatory risk and build competitive advantage and brand reputation.
Dr David Cooke, Executive General Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions says: “Our impressive new office space has already created a buzz for staff and clients coming to the building for meetings and demonstrations. We hope we will continue to see the Konica Minolta business offering grow and prosper while supporting the environment wherever we can.”
Konica Minolta will mark the opening ceremony by announcing an initiative to help offset the carbon of attendance at the event. The business has commissioned the planting of 200 native Australian trees from seed through Greenfleet - a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to reducing the impact of greenhouse gas emissions from business, transport, air travel and household energy use.
A recent survey conducted as part of Konica Minolta’s recent seminar series Innovation: Mind the Gap found that most Australian employees support environmentally-friendly innovation. The statistics show that 90 per cent of Australian professionals believe their organisation is not doing enough to reduce its environmental footprint and a staggering 62 per cent believe they would be more productive when working in an eco-friendly environment.
* NABERS - A rating system measuring operational impacts on the environment, providing a simple indication of how well you are managing environmental impacts compared with your peers and neighbours.
