Enhanced quality, reliability and security seal the deal for Brauer College

The Client – Brauer College

After evaluating each of the four vendors on the Victorian Department of Education's purchasing panel, Brauer College elected to install devices from the Konica Minolta bizhub series because they offered advanced technology and innovative functions which addressed their three core needs; ease of use, reliability of machines and efficient technical support.

Peter Honan, IT and Facilities Manager at Brauer College, says "high quality imaging was also particularly important for us, because the machines are used in our graphics and photography departments, in addition to producing bulletins and reports." Konica Minolta believes the Simitri High Definition® polymerised toner enhances the depth, detail and consistency of images, colours, gradations and text characters, showcasing students" work to a professional standard.

Konica Minolta's attractive rates were another determining factor. "The initial capital outlay was significantly lower than other vendors, which meant that we were able to install colour machines throughout the entire college, rather than just monochrome."

IT Managers like Peter also stand to benefit from the PageScope™ networking software suite, which manages networked devices across the campus seamlessly from one location. This allows status checking quickly and easily and configuration of one or more devices across a network efficiently without even leaving the department.

Brauer College purchased eight Konica Minolta bizhub devices, two bizhub C652DSs and six bizhub C452s. The installation of these products has produced significant cost savings by enabling the College to bring important print jobs in-house, including the production of students' school reports, "This process involves printing reports for 1,150 students, which are proof-read and then re-printed, all within a tight timeframe. This was achieved smoothly and quickly using the bizhub devices, while giving teaching staff confidence that their confidential reports and information are printed securely," explains Peter.

Peter also says that the service provided by Konica Minolta's local distributor, eResources, has been fantastic. "They put in extra time during installation to integrate the devices with 'Paper Cut' software. This has resulted in significant cost efficiencies and environmental benefits flowing from paper reduction."

Peter is confident that the devices will prove to be a good investment. "The Konica Minolta machines have met all of our expectations in terms of performance. Our students and staff have high demands in terms of quality output, but the printers have been well received, which boils down to their user-friendliness."
