30 Jun 2022

Sydney, Australia, 30 June 2022 - Konica Minolta Australia has announced that long-time customer, Revolution Print, has rounded out its industrial print solution with the purchase of the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 plus the Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) DC350Nano label finisher. This gives Revolution Print an end-to-end label printing solution backed by Konica Minolta Australia service and support, and making it the first customer in the region to have Konica Minolta’s entire industrial print range.

Revolution Print was experiencing increasing demand for labels, particularly from existing customers, which led it to look for its own in-house solution. With a relationship with Konica Minolta that spans many years, it made sense for it to source the next innovation there.

Leon Wilson, director, Revolution Print, said, “At Revolution Print, we are unapologetically print geeks, constantly looking to create the future of print. A key part of this is the innovative technology we choose to bring into the business to help us meet our mission. In the last five or so years, Revolution has moved to a completely digital printing operation with the AccurioJet KM-1 Inkjet Press and the MGI 3DS+iFoil technology, the label solution now completes our industrial print offering.

“Apart from the existing relationship, which offers us superior service and support, Revolution Print chose the label offering from Konica Minolta because of its ability to provide a solution that could print a wide variety of labels on a multitude of substrates, without the need for pre-coating and providing high light fastness. This would appeal to numerous vertical markets including those that require Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved indirect labels for use in the food and cosmetics industries. Bringing this capability in-house will also improve turnaround times, letting us deliver better service to our customers.

“With development underway internally to create a seamless online ordering experience in PrintIQ, we are excited to be able to offer an entire new range of products to our online clients, which can be quoted on and ordered 24/7. We are accepting new clients and encourage everyone to visit our new website.”

The AccurioLabel 230 label printer is a digital label printing system that offers enhanced productivity, job flexibility, operability, and excellent image quality with an affordable system cost, helping Revolution Print meet demand for shorter run, short processing time print jobs. The unique toner technology gives good light fastness and excellent colour gamut all with a high-lustre finish.

The GM DC350Nano is the most compact unit in GM’s series of label finishing solutions. The DC350Nano is a 350mm web width converter, and is perfect for small spaces, measuring only 1,600mm wide x 1,600mm long x 1,700mm high. It is an all-in-one solution with lamination, die-cut, and rewind as standard. Despite its compactness, it’s capable of processing up to 45 linear metres per minute in semi-rotary die-cutting mode with precision cutting to reduce waste and accurate processing over a wide range of substrates. It complements the AccurioLabel 230, offering Revolution Print a complete end-to-end label solution.

Adam Todd, industrial print solutions consultant, Konica Minolta Australia, said, “With the AccurioLabel 230 and the GM DC350Nano label, Revolution Print can produce quality labels with faster turnaround times, giving the business the opportunity in extend its range and offering. The complementary solution means that Revolution Print can print the labels and then finish and re-roll them on to smaller rolls, rather than flat sheet, ready to be boxed and shipped to customers to label their products.

“The key benefits of the end-to-end label solution offered by Konica Minolta for commercial and industrial printers alike is the ability to complement their existing business and extend into new revenue streams and vertical markets. Rounding out its industrial print offering with the AccurioLabel 230 and the GM DC350Nano will give Revolution Print a competitive edge and the ability to upsell and cross sell. It is testament to Revolution Print for being innovative, savvy, and ready to pivot to make the most of opportunities in the market.”
