The Smith Family
The Smith Family is an independent, national organisation that supports Australian in need to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. Their mission is to create opportunities for young Australians by providing long-term support for their participation in education.
Right now one in ten Aussie kids are living in disadvantage and are unable to access the same educational, health or life opportunities that many of us enjoy and often take for granted.
The Smith Family works in 97 Australian communities and in the last year our work reached more than 117,000 disadvantaged children and families across Australia.
Our support is called Learning for Life and it gives disadvantaged Australian children and young people the assistance they need, both financial and personal, to develop vital life skills, stay engaged in their education and have the best chance to realise their potential. It supports disadvantaged kids from pre-school and early childhood settings, as well as students all the way through their education, from primary school, to senior school, and on to tertiary studies if they choose.
Konica Minolta and employees support The Smith Family through:
• Workplace giving
• Donating toys and books at Christmas to help spread joy to all Aussie kids living in need
