Corporate Social Responsibility
Konica Minolta: A company that cares
Recognised as one of the world’s most sustainable organisations
Konica Minolta is committed to creating value for our customers and society, and to contributing to a sustainable, equal and fair world. We have been recognised and awarded for our contribution to society and for working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) throughout our business and supply chain.
Pathways to Sustainability and Shared Value 2020
In Australia through our CSR Strategy ‘Pathways to Sustainability and Shared Value 2020” we have identified 5 key areas of responsibility and impact, and we are currently working to develop our CSR strategy for 2020 and beyond.
1.Transformative Community Partnerships
We support our four main charity partners: Project Futures, The Smith Family, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and Landcare, through donations, matched giving, fund-raising volunteering and in-kind support. We also provide in-kind support and volunteering to a number of other local community charities.
2. Human rights and ethical sourcing
Konica Minolta has been actively involved in supporting human rights and has made significant advances to ensure the ethical management of its supply chain. We published our first Modern Slavery Statement in 2020, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act. You can read more here.
3. Diversity and Inclusion
We believe everyone has the right to enjoy equal opportunities in our workplace and community. We have an active Diversity and Inclusion Committee and four sub-committees for Disability, Gender, Culture and Sexuality and Gender Identity. In 2020 we formed a RAP Taskforce to undertake our first Reconciliation Action Plan, a formal commitment to build on our existing work to close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.
4. Safety, Wellbeing and Health
We have a strong culture of promoting and protecting health and safety and worker wellbeing within our organisation regular communications and training and an established Health and Safety Committee.
5. Environmental Leadership
Konica Minolta Inc.’s EcoVision 2050 exemplifies our determination to fulfil our long-term environmental responsibilities. Konica Minolta aims to reduce the CO2, emissions from products throughout their entire lifecycle by 80% compared to fiscal 2005 levels.
In July’20, Konica Minolta announced that we will achieve the Carbon Minus Goal in 2030, ahead of the original target year of 2050.
