For the last 30 years, Landcare has played a leading role in changing Australia’s approach to sustainable agricultural practices, environmental protection, conservation of land and waterways, coastlines and biodiversity.
Every Landcare Week, thousands of Australians from all walks of life come together to recognise the tireless efforts and commitment of farmers, land managers, Landcare facilitators, Landcare groups and volunteers who help protect and rehabilitate the natural environments of this great land we call home.
It’s an opportunity to celebrate the enduring heart, dedication and resilience central to the Landcare philosophy. Key to Landcare’s enduring success has been people power because Landcare offers every Australian the chance to make a real difference in their local community.
Currently, Landcare has evolved into a national movement of around 6,000 groups and hundreds of thousands of volunteers, all playing a central role in sustainable agricultural practices and conservation activities, while also strengthening communities and social capital.
In 2011, Konica Minolta partnered with Landcare Australia to develop an Employee Engagement Program. Through Landcare Australia’s workplace giving and corporate environmental volunteering programs, Konica Minolta employees have the opportunity to commit to making a positive and meaningful contribution to our environment. In recent years, Konica Minolta has also provided support to National Landcare Awards and Conferences through the provision of in-kind printing solutions.
In 2017, Konica Minolta made a donation to help support an Aboriginal Cultural Site Restoration project in the ACT through the Ginninderra Catchment Group. The funds were a combination of corporate monies from Konica Minolta as well as workplace giving by its employees. This project provides the opportunity for community members including the Aboriginal community, local residents, Landcare volunteers and corporate partners to engage in Aboriginal land management activities such as revegetation, weed control and connecting with significant cultural sites
